Instructions for Authors of Late-Breaking Papers

Papers describing late-breaking developments in the field of information systems are being solicited for inclusion in a special section of the proceedings to be distributed to all attendees of the European Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems 2004 (EMCIS 2004) to be held on July 25 - 27 (Sunday - Tuesday), 2004 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Tunisia.

The purpose of late-breaking papers is to provide conference attendees and the information systems community with information about research that was initiated, enhanced, improved, or completed after the original paper submission deadline in 12th of April 2004, 2004.

Late-breaking papers will be presented during EMCIS 2004 and will be examined by the conference executive for relevance and minimum standards of acceptability, but will not be peer reviewed by referees.

Late-breaking papers must be submitted in camera-ready form by the 13th of June in accordance with the EMCIS 2004 format specifications listed below.

ou are hereby invited to submit full paper(s) -in English or French, you would be available to present.

All papers will be reviewed for suitability by the conference chairs, and if suitable, will be sent to two referees for peer review. Papers should not be more than 7 Pages long (excluding references). They should provide sufficient detail to indicate clearly the industry or research context and objectives, selected methodology or case studies, and the final outcome/lessons for enterprises and policy developers.

Potential contributors should note that the conference will attract a mixture of industry practitioners, academics and public sector representatives and should address the style and content of their paper accordingly. Presentations will focus on addressing the interests and needs of this diverse audience. Practical applications guided by good theory, success stories, ‘learning experiences’ and integrative approaches will be delivered in plenary sessions and specialized themes.

The full contact details (postal address, telephone, fax and e-mail) of the corresponding author and the individual(s) who will present the paper if accepted, should appear on the first page of the paper.  All submissions must comply with the following schedule:

  • Apr 12th 2004  Receipt of Full Paper or PhD Extended Abstract

  • Apr 25th 2004   Notification of Acceptance / Rejection (Referee Comments)

  • May 23rd 2004   Submission of Camera Ready Paper & Registration Fee

Paper submission is by email only, to the Review Committee at:  emcis2004@brunel.ac.uk

Submissions should include original materials that have not been published previously or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere as all papers will be considered for publication in a series of forthcoming special issues. If that is the case, you will be asked to develop an extended version of your paper and indicate your journal preference.
