COMPLIMENTARY Gala Dinner & Entertainment @ Santa Bárbara Castle

Castillo de Santa Bárbara, originally built to protect Alicante and virtually surrounded by sea, remains a major landmark in the city, offering panoramic views.

Its foundations date back to the 11th century, and remains have been found here from the Romans and Moors, but most of the building was constructed from the 14th-16th centuries.

As well as the Torre de Homenaje (keep), the Engineers' Park and the Philip II Room, the castle has a museum with a permanent collection of sculptures, mostly busts of famous faces in Spanish history, from Francisco Goya to Valle-Inclán. Long a symbol of Alicante, the towering walles, turrets and situation on the summit of Mount Benacantil, make this the stuff of fairytales.

The EMCIS 2006 gala, partly sponsored by the town in the famous Alicante Castle, will be situated inside the Alicante Castle at the top of the mountain dominating the city.  The impressive menu consisting of a wide range of local delicacies and international cuisine.
