We have invited some of the distinguished scholars in the field of Information Systems as keynote speakers for the forthcoming tGov2010 workshop on 18 -19 March 2010.

Viswanath Venkatesh is a Professor and the first holder of the George and Boyce Billingsley Chair in Information Systems at the Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas. Prior to this, he was the first Tyser Fellow and an Associate Professor at the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. He completed his Ph.D. in Information and Decision Sciences from the University of Minnesota in 1997. His research focuses on understanding technology diffusion in organisations and homes by focusing on end-user training, user acceptance, and gender and age differences, usability, ERP, and electronic commerce. Over the past ten years, he has worked with several companies and government agencies in different capacities ranging from a systems engineer to a special consultant to the Vice-President. These field settings have served as a bed for a careful scientific study of real world phenomena.

He has conducted large studies of electronic commerce, designed/developed/tested technology training programs for organisations, and studied technology implementation activities, with the total organisational sponsorship of his research being about $10M. His research has also been funded by government agencies e.g., NSF. His research has been published in leading information systems, organisational behavior, and psychology journals including Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Communications of the ACM, Organisational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Marketing, Personnel Psychology, Decision Sciences, and International Journal of Human-Computer Studies. His articles have been cited about 8000 times per Google Scholars and about 3200 times per Web of Science.


Stephen King is a Senior Lecturer in Information Management and MBA Director at the Leeds University Business School. Prior to this, he completed his PhD in Information Systems from University of Warwick and MPhil in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Bradford. Currently, he is also the head of management division, Leeds University Business School. He covers a wide range of teaching modules (including e-Business, Operations and Information Management, etc.) to full time and executive MBA apprentice. His core research areas are (a) understanding the dynamics of information sytems innovation, (b) e-Government/t-Government, and (c) co-producing health.Over the past ten years, he has worked with companies and educational institutes in different capacities ranging from a software engineer to a senior research fellow to a lecturer in computer sciences.

His research has been published in leading information systems and policy oriented journals including, European Journal of Information Systems, Local Government Studies, Government Information Quarterly, International Journal of Information Management, Journal of Information Technology, Information and Software Technology.
